Ordered a dinning table and chair. Given a delivery date on the Tuesday 0700-1400. No one turned up. No one called. Called up at 1405. "Oh sorry your order didn't go through from the internet to the delivery people." "Can I have it delivered on Saturday as I look a day off work?" We could get it delivered next tuesday" "No I would then have to take..
I bought a John Lewis TK17BCJLU Kettle from johnlewis.com - I had it less than two months when it started switching off before the water was boiled.
I took it back to their Newcastle upon Tyne branch. The assistant went to see a manager, she said when she came back, "the trouble is limescale build-up". I looked inside and there was a very thin line of limescale about an 1.5 inches long. The assistant also said "The kettle guarentee does not cover it for limesale build-up" and "The manufacturer will not take back any more of these kettles". She told me to descale the kettle.
I descaled the kettle and it still switched off. I took it back to the Newcastle branch where a manager said "The limescale gets into the switch."
I live alone and I'm at work four days a week - the kettle was only seven weeks old - I refill the kettle with fresh water every use.
This kettle is not fit for use if it can't handle such a small amount of limescale, plus, if the manager is right when she said "The limescale gets into the switch." this kettle is dangerous.
