I have been an M&S fan for a long time - I've shopped there regularly for food for several years. About six months ago, I noticed that they were frequently overcharging me at the till. Reasons were diverse - not giving me the sales price advertised in the store, not giving me credit for "buy 2 for £xx" promotions, items mis-marked, or items scanned through more than once. It was irritating, but since I like the food, I've continued to shop there. However, the mistakes have increased in frequency and twice in the past week (in two different stores) I've been overcharged by more than £7 (I have the receipts). The last time, I was charged twice for an item in the "Dine in for £10" promotion costing me an extra £4.19. I found the mistake when I checked the receipt before leaving the store. When I pointed it out to the cashier, she looked a bit guilty and didn't even apologize as she was refunding the money. I'm starting to think these are not random mistakes. If you shop at M&S food, carefully check your receipt before leaving the store - it will save you money

We made a 34 mile round trip to this store to stock up on the advertised "Dine in for £10" offer. We arrived at 4.00pm, 4 hours before the store closed, to find a store festooned with adverts for this offer. On asking an assistant where to locate the offer, we were told that there was nothing left. I asked to speak to the manager who apologised profusely, which, in the circumstances, simply isn`t good enough. I suggested that she could make up the offer from the products that were available but this was refused. I also suggested that she should remove all the adverts for the offer, which she and her security guard began to do. We chose this store because I have mobility problems and you can park at the door. We also expected a large city branch to have the choice advertised online. Caveat emptor
